RESIDENTIAL SUPPORT STAFF

  • Position Type: Part-Time, In-Person, Thursdays, Fridays & Saturdays 10:00am - 08:00pm , Wednesdays (Virtually or in-person) 1:00-2:30pm

  • Starting Pay: $21.00/Hour

  • 32-24 hours a week, paid semi-monthly

Position Overview

The Residential Milieu Staff provide direct support within Covered’s residential program by creating a safe, structured, and trauma‑informed environment where survivors experience consistency, healthy relationships, accountability, and hope. Through meaningful daily interactions, staff reinforce program expectations and support each woman’s healing and growth.

Time Requirements:

This position is 32-34 hours per week. In-person Thursday, Fridays & Saturday’s 10:00am - 08:00pm and Wednesdays (virtually or in-person) 1pm-2:30pm for clinical supervision and staff meeting. It is crucial that you can fulfill your scheduled days and hours.

Key Responsibilities -

Resident Engagement

  • Remain actively engaged and present with residents throughout each shift.

  • Help maintain a safe, welcoming, and consistent residential environment.

  • Encourage healthy coping skills, emotional regulation, and personal responsibility.

  • Facilitate daily check-ins, groups, activities, and community engagement opportunities as assigned.

  • Model healthy boundaries and trauma-informed, respectful communication.

  • Reinforce daily routines, program expectations, and residential structure.

  • Observe changes in resident behavior and communicate concerns promptly to the Residential Manager and Case Manager.

Crisis Response & Safety

  • Respond to crisis situations using trauma-informed de-escalation techniques.

  • Follow established crisis response and safety procedures.

  • Maintain awareness of resident safety and immediately communicate concerns.

  • Support the implementation of resident safety plans as directed.

Program Implementation

  • Assist residents with daily living activities, transportation, appointments, and community outings.

  • Administer medications in accordance with QMAP certification requirements and Covered policies.

  • Complete UAs, BAs, and other assigned program responsibilities.

  • Assist with resident orientation and daily programming.

  • Complete accurate shift notes, incident reports, and required documentation in a timely manner.

  • Communicate effectively with residents, staff, and program leadership.

  • Participate in staff meetings, required trainings, and ongoing professional development.

Residential Operations

  • Support the cleanliness, organization, safety, and overall readiness of the residence.

  • Complete assigned household responsibilities, safety checks, and operational tasks.

  • Assist with maintaining program supplies and residential readiness.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required

  • Experience in behavioral health, residential programs, or substance use preferred.

  • Experience with survivors of trafficking, domestic violence, or sexual assault preferred.

  • QMAP certification and ability to safely administer medications and maintain accurate documentation.

  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and documentation skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain attention to detail, and make sound decisions in crisis situations.

  • Ability to build and maintain professional relationships and boundaries.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and electronic documentation systems.

  • Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries at all times.

  • Actively engage with residents in a trauma-informed, supportive manner.

  • Valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, and acceptable driving record.

  • Safely drive clients in a 12 passenger company van

  • Ability to safely transport staff, volunteers or residents using agency‑approved procedures and vehicles.

  • Successful completion of required background checks.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This position works primarily within Covered's residential homes, the Care & Education Center, and community settings.

Stand, walk, navigate stairs, and move throughout the home or office for extended periods.

Lift, carry, or move up to 25 pounds as part of routine household, office and safety tasks.

Respond effectively and appropriately during a crisis or emergencies, including providing support, initiating safety protocols, and contacting emergency services.

We operate a Care & Education Center as well as 2 residential group homes in the Denver metro area.
