Part-Time Residential Support Staff

*Saturday 1pm-9pm, Sunday 3:30pm-9pm, Monday 11am-9pm, Wednesday 1:00pm-2:30pm

Position Overview

Covered Colorado is seeking dedicated and compassionate part-time Residential Support Staff to join our milieu-based residential program for adult female survivors of trafficking. This in-person role focuses on creating a safe, structured, and client-centered environment that fosters healing, autonomy, and community engagement.

Hourly pay to start at $21.00 an hour with an average of 21-25 hours a week.

Key Responsibilities

Milieu Engagement & Supervision

  • Co-regulate with clients and validate emotions while maintaining appropriate boundaries

  • Model healthy boundaries, de-escalation, and grounding techniques

  • Encourage residents to utilize coping skills and tolerate discomfort

  • Redirect distorted thinking and reinforce therapeutic tools

  • Facilitate daily groups, check-ins, and check-outs

  • Support clients with skill-building tools such as ABC (Antecedent–Behavior–Consequence) sheets

 Client Engagement & Milieu Presence

  • Maintain active engagement with clients throughout the entire shift

  • Remain consistently present in shared spaces and initiate supportive, appropriate interactions

  • Build rapport through respectful, trauma-informed, relationship-based engagement

  • Observe and respond to changes in client behavior, mood, or house dynamics

 De-escalation & Crisis Response

  • Identify early signs of dysregulation and intervene using trauma-informed strategies

  • Utilize grounding, redirection, and co-regulation to maintain safety

  • Maintain calm, regulated behavior during heightened situations

  • Follow all crisis response, documentation, and communication protocols

Structure & Accountability

  • Uphold program expectations with consistency and professionalism

  • Balance empathy with clear, firm boundaries

  • Redirect behaviors that are disruptive or unsafe

  • Reinforce daily structure, routines, and expectations

Client & Program Support

  • Assist with planning and supervising resident activities

  • Ensure resident adherence to schedules and assigned chores

  • Administer medications in accordance with QMAP certification

  • Monitor UAs/BAs and complete sharps checkout/return procedures

  • Maintain all safety protocols and program expectations

Documentation & Communication

  • Accurately document significant client interactions and behaviors

  • Complete shift notes, incident reports, and internal communication

  • Maintain clear, confidential, and effective communication with team members

  • Adhere to company policies, Code of Ethics, and applicable laws

House Maintenance & Safety

  • Support cleanliness and organization of the residence

  • Perform light household duties and basic upkeep

  • Remove snow and ice from walkways as needed

Client Transportation

  • Drive clients in a 12-passenger company-owned van

  • Maintain order and safety while driving and follow all traffic laws

  • Provide a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance

General Expectations

  • In-person, part-time position

  • Staff must remain actively engaged and present throughout each shift

  

Work Schedule

  • Weekends: Saturday 1pm-9pm, Sunday 3:30pm-9pm 

    • Two residential locations; Saturday outing with another staff member

  • Mondays: 11am-9pm

    • Residential locations + Care & Education Center in Parker (van driving required)

  • Wednesdays:  1pm-2:30pm

    • Weekly staff meeting (in-person or virtual; occasional required trainings)

Qualifications

Required

  • Experience in residential, behavioral health, social services, or related direct-care settings

  • Ability to remain regulated and respond effectively during crises

  • Strong interpersonal skills and trauma-informed engagement

  • Ability to uphold boundaries, structure, and accountability

  • Competence in documentation and communication protocols

  • Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and ability to drive a 12-passenger van

  • Ability to pass background checks and compliance requirements

  • QMAP certification (or willingness to obtain)

 Preferred

  • Experience with survivors of trafficking, domestic violence, homelessness, or complex trauma

  • Training in trauma-informed care, MI, DBT skills, or milieu-based interventions

  • Experience facilitating groups or structured activities

  • Strong organizational skills and comfort in dynamic environments

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to remain active and engaged throughout each shift

  • Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the residence for extended periods

  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 pounds

  • Ability to navigate stairs and perform light household tasks

  • Ability to respond quickly in crisis situations

  • Ability to drive a 12-passenger van and assist clients in/out of the vehicle

  • Ability to work in varying weather conditions, including snow/ice removal
